The Role of Ummati
Ummati is the name of a body of individuals which consists of one delegate/representative from each of the schools working together. These representatives from each school meet three times a year (once per semester) and discuss the direction of all of the schools in respect to:
Once these are all mutually agreed upon, it is expected that each school designated authority will make an effort to implement these practices in their respective schools.
Ummati will also assign one or more individuals to visit these schools periodically to assist them with the implementation of all of these standard practices as well as live scheduled and unscheduled classroom visits.
The goal is that we all benefit from each others’ strengths and learn from each others’ mistakes and share resources to keep the cost of education at a minimum.
We also hope to maintain a common standard among all the schools working together so that wherever an individual may live, they will find an Ummati school close to them where they can send their children.
